The very first University in Sweden, was founded in the year 1477. The university is located in Uppsala city and it is a city of students! There is a river called Fyris flowing through the city from north to south. The west part of the river is considered as the Academic part of the city and the east part is considered as the Business part of the city. That is how big the university is! More than 50000 students are doing their studies with the guidance of more than 2000 academic staff. Uppsala University has the ARWU ranking of 88 (in the year 2024).
I joined Uppsala University in the year 2023 as a Master's student in Embedded Systems master's program. My main goal in joining this mater's program particularly was to improve my understanding of low-level programming.
The program is 120 credits with 30 credits of degree project. The program continues for 4 semesters with 4 months each. More details about the course outcome can be found on the department website here.
The course is a full-time course on campus with frequent assignments, lab sessions, discussion/tutorial sessions, and lectures. The course contents are up to the industrial demand, and well organized but they have a heavy workload to get higher grades.
The Embedded Systems master's program is provided by the Department of Information Technology. The department is in the Ångström Laboratory also known as the Polacksbacken campus.
More details about the Embedded Systems master's program can be found on the university website here.
